Is Britney Spears writing a revealing book?
In 2008, Spears teased the possibility of releasing a “good mystery book” about his life during his documentary For registration. More recently, she hinted at this possibility in a series of social media posts. Now, it seems that day is on the horizon.
And, if the rumors are true, she will earn a huge salary in the process.
According to a report by page 6, the “Toxic” superstar has signed a publishing deal to publish a book through Simon & Schuster. The publication reports that the company shelled out more than $15 million to put the Princess of Pop on its list of authors.
A source said page 6 that the deal was “one of the biggest of all time” and that it followed a bidding war.
How would a $15 million deal compare to other celebrity exits?
the New York Post reports that Barack and Michelle Obama snatched what would have been a $60 million deal for their books in 2017. In 2016, Initiated reported that comedian Amy Schumer received an $8-10 million advance on hers.
The sun claims that Spears has wanted to write her own story since her sister Jamie Lynn Spears published a memoir titled Things I should have said earlier this year.
“Britney is absolutely ready to explode, she’s furious with how Jamie Lynn portrayed a version of their relationship that doesn’t feel like the truth,” a source told the publication.
The sisters exchanged words on social media. Britney called her younger sister a “scum” in response to allegations that she held them together in a room while handing a knife.
rolling stone reports that Britney’s attorney has sent a cease and desist letter to Jamie Lynn due to allegations made about the pop star while Jamie Lynn was on a promotional tour.
Britney fans also showed their support for the star. Many took to social media to laugh after photos from Jamie Lynn’s book were shown in the fiction section.
Although she hasn’t outright confirmed her plans to release a book, Britney Spears teased the possibility on social media.
In January, she posted a photo of a typewriter on Instagram. “Should I start at THE BEGINNING,” she asked in the accompanying caption. (Yes please.)
