UK-based free-to-play mobile developer Electric Manta has teamed up with Sunday to create hyper-casual games.
Founded by former PopCap employees, Electric Manta is made up of mobile gaming and hyper-casual veterans like Kwalee and Miniclip.
Going forward, Electric Manta will focus on developing casual, casual hybrid and hyper-casual games across its studio operations.
Electric Manta and Sunday are expected to start testing prototype games together from December 2021.
“We are a one-stop-shop for casual, hybrid and hyper game development,” said Mark Cochrane, Founder and CEO of Electric Manta.
“It helps us manage risk and at the same time innovate in core development and meta-gameplay.
“Electric Manta wants to find basic mechanics that everyone loves and use them to drive the next generation of casual games. The next match three or fusion will be created by us, owned by us, and played by everyone.”
Sunday Managing Director Chistoph Sachsenhausen added: “We are delighted to partner with the Electric Manta team who share a common passion for creating successful games that anyone can play, with Sunday.”
In August, Electric Manta revealed a long-term partnership with hypercasual publisher Voodoo with the goal of extending the lifespan and engagement of hypercasual games.
