Growing up in the northeastern state, Mercy is no stranger to the devastation caused by floods year after year during the monsoon.
“My family and I have never faced serious destruction from flooding, but it has always saddened me since childhood to see our people suffer year after year. Until I am able to help the needy, I will do so without any hesitation,” he explained.
While Mercy is currently in Mumbai, her family is stuck in her home country.
“Luckily my family is in a safe place but amidst all the chaos and the terrible situation in the nearby areas, they are mentally disturbed. We really hope that the situation will return to normal soon,” he said.
